Elena Shakhova, Chair

Born in Leningrad in 1977. Graduated from Economics Department of St. Petersburg State University (2000). Completed an International Human Rights Course run by Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights (Warsaw, 2004).

Elena has worked with Citizens' Watch since 1998. In 2003, she was elected member of the Board, and on 17 March 2014 she became Chair of Citizens' Watch.

Elena coordinates projects on the assistance to the judicial reforms, including transparency of courts, access to justice, free legal aid, and alternative ways of dispute resolution.

Elena Likhacheva, Chief Accountant

Born 1961, graduated from Leningrad Engineering University (1989). Completed post-graduate studies at St. Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance (degree in accounting, 2004).

Has worked in nonprofit sector for nearly 20 years, and with Citizens' Watch since 2002.

Evgenia Nepomniashchaya, Accountant

Evgenia graduated from Leningrad State University, Mathematics and Mechanics Department (1969).

Her main job is teaching higher mathematics at St. Petersburg University of Cinema and Television.

Has worked with Citizens' Watch since 1995.

Vitus Media, communications coordinator

Has worked with human rights groups since 2009. Activist of various youth and human rights associations. Secretary of the Coordination Council for International Youth Human Rights Movement. Expert of the Youth network against racism and intolerance. Coordinator of the International School of Human Rights and Civil Activities for the Northwest Region of Russia. Trainer in human rights.

Graduated from Tomsk Polytechnics University specialising in public relations (2009). Worked in advertising, PR and art management.

Joined Citizens' Watch in February 2014.

Olga Borisova, SMM-specialist

Born in Leningrad in 1987.

Earned Master's degree in economics at St Petersburg State University of Economics and Finance (2010).

In 2014 completed another university degree course, qualifying as a lawyer at St Petersburg Law Institute of General Prosecutor's Office Academy.

Joined Citizens' Watch in April 2014.

Olga Startceva, lawyer

Olga was born in Komsomolsk-na-Amure in 1991.

In 2012 she graduated from the State Khabarovsk Academy of Economics and Law, specialization "jurisprudence".

In 2013 moved to Saint-Petersburg, where she worked at the law firm as a business lawyer.

Since 2014 she has been working as a lawyer with Citizens' Watch. 

In 2015 she received LL.M. in international law and law of international organizations, specialization human rights at the University of Groningen, the Netherlands.
